Turkish Airlines Orders Up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft
Turkish Airlines has finalized an agreement with Boeing for an order of up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The agreement, signed following negotiations that have been ongoing since 2025, marks the airline’s largest-ever single-aisle aircraft order with Boeing. The agreement was finalized in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker said the agreement represents an important step in the airline’s fleet growth strategy, adding that the new 737 MAX aircraft will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to operations, support the airline’s Istanbul-based network and contribute to Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stephanie Pope said the order reflects the mutual trust and shared vision between the two companies, adding that Boeing will continue to support Turkish Airlines’ global growth and Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem.
📌 The new aircraft are expected to be deployed primarily on high-demand domestic and international short- and medium-haul routes. The Boeing 737-8 is stated to deliver a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions.
Turkish Airlines and AJet currently operate more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 MAX, 737 Next-Generation, 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 777 Freighter models. The new order follows Turkish Airlines’ 2025 order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The cooperation framework includes technology and knowledge sharing, human capital development, sustainability initiatives and new industrial cooperation opportunities.
